The Madison Memorial boys' hockey team took down Baldwin-Woodville, 4-3, after a shootout at Madison Ice Arena on Friday evening, in a first round game of the 2019 Culver's Cup.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the second period, the Hawks evened the score in the third period, forcing overtime. With nobody scoring in the OT period, Memorial took the lead on the only shootout goal made.
With the win, the Spartans will move on to the Culver's Cup semifinal game at 3pm on Saturday to face at Madison Ice Arena.
In the girls' tournament, the Metro Lynx defeated Sioux Falls (S.D.), 4-2, to move on to the semifinal match-up on Saturday at 2:45pm at Hartmeyer Ice Arena.
