US international Tim Ream suffered a short and nightmarish outing on Sunday, picking up a straight red card in just the 6th minute of Fulham's FA Cup fourth-round match vs. Manchester City, setting the stage for a one-sided 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the Cityzens.
Ream pulled down Gabriel Jesus as he spun clear in the Fulham penalty box, dooming the Cottagers to play shorthanded for most of what was already a highly daunting visit to the Etihad Stadium for the underdogs from the English Championship.
In 306 appearances in England, that was Tim Ream's first red card. Fulham's captain sent off early on against Man City as Gabriel Jesus got the wrong side of him and he hauled him down. #USMNT #FFC #FACup https://t.co/BUyiXc9YZL

As the former New York Red Bulls center back hit the showers, Ilkay Gundogan dispatched the resulting penalty kick, followed not long after by a strike from Bernardo Silva. Jesus would later bag a second-half brace.
Fulham still have plenty to play for in the league, as they remain in the thick of the promotion race, currently sitting in third place in the Championship standings with 49 points from their 29 matches to date.
