When In-N-Out Burger announced on Jan. 30 it was selling slip-on shoes designed like its soft drink cups, it suggested the footwear would be a good Valentine’s Day gift.
“They go a lot farther than a box of chocolates,” read the Instragram post.
But In-N-Out’s stock of the shoes didn’t go very far at all. The footwear sold out in days, faster than Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen ran through its stock of chicken sandwiches last July.
The red-and-white shoes will be available again in May, according to the Irvine-based company, which has taken the link off its website.
When they were available, the cost for a pair was $64.95.
They feature a row of palm trees on the tongue, squiggles, and an In-N-Out logo on the heel.
When the shoes become available again, they will only be available online and at In-N-Out’s company stores in Baldwin Park and Las Vegas, according to the company.
In the meantime, In-N-Out also has Drink Cup Socks for $13.95. And there are heart-shaped Microfoil balloons with palm trees and squiggles for sale at five for $10 on the In-N-Out website, shop.in-n-out.com
